The Lily Lodge is situated at the edge of a strip of coastal forest at Second Beach in Port St Johns, 5Km from the town centre. It is an idyllic venue for enjoying the Transkei Wild Coast. From our restaurant, you may sight schools of dolphins surfing and gliding away the late afternoon. We serve you the fruits of the ocean complemented by wines from the Cape. Our chalets nestle amongst the trees where you can listen to exotic birdcalls and watch the monkeys play. You can laze on the beach, walk for hours in the forests and along the cliffs, or fish to your heart's content. Other activities in Port St Johns include tours to local villages, deep-sea fishing and horse trails.
Our restaurant and conference room are perched on top of a sand dune. From the restaurant deck, you walk down the dune to the Beach and the Indian Ocean. It is ideal for conferences and for taking a few days to enjoy the beach and environs of Port St Johns. The main conference room is best for up to 60 people (but can accommodate up to 200 in lecture-style format).
Second Beach is a tranquil quiet beach for most of the year. Only over the main festive season (16 December to January 1) does it get crowded with lots of day visitors coming from surrounding towns. This is the time for those who enjoy a buzz with lots of excitement and noise.
The Lodge is owned and run by Mbuyie O'Mahony, a Pondo lady married to an Irishman. It is fully staffed and operated by people from Pondoland |
